Which Nikon repair site for scanner service?

My Nikon 8000 scanner needs repair and I can send it to either Melville, N.Y.
or Torrance, CA. Any reason to send it to one vs the other? I've heard of the
N.Y. repair facility but not the CA one ... Torrance is closer ...

I can't specifically address the repair of scanners but I do know that the
Torrance facility seems to be Nikon's default "primary" repair facility. I
have had Nikon cameras repaired at that location. When I wanted to have an
internal computer setting changed on a brand new Nikon I called Nikon USA.
The rep informed me that I could bring the camera to any official Nikon
repair center but they all will ship it to Torrance as it is the only
approved facility for certain repairs. I have had no problems with their
turnaround time or customer service. My opinion.
