Where are IE6 Configuation files?

I'm having trouble with ie6. I can click on the toolbar and get toolbar
choices. But some of them are backwards... in other words, selecting the
AOL toolbar will load the Google toolbar, selecting MSN toolbar will
load AOL etc. I think there is something wrong in a configuration file
somewhere that tell IE what toolbar goes where.

Any ideas?

It is not unheard of.
I have a friend who has a mismatch with Yahoo and Google bars
but she is quite able to manage the situation and told me not to
bother investigating.
No spyware, parasites or adware present. The machine was clean.

You can try this to see if the toolbars get reset:

or if you have the Google toolbar:
Go to http://toolbar.google.com/fixmenu and click on the "Reset IE's
Toolbar Menu" button.
