IE6 Toolbar Unlocks on its own!

L

Larry

This is not a big deal but the inconvience has me curious
nontheless.

I configure my IE6 toolbar the way I want it,
first "Unlocking" and then arranging my...Links, Standard
Buttons, Address Bar, Google Toolbar, etc, the way I want
them and then procede to "Lock" the toolbar.

Occasionally, upon reopening IE6, the toolbar has arranged
itself differently and I go through the same exercise of
configuration once again.

When I right-click on the toolbar I can see the checkmarks
in front of those items I want displayed.

Also, I do not see IE Toolbar in my Control Panel >
Add/Remove Programs. I thought perhaps I could do a
Repair but it's not on the list. Closest is IE Q818529.

If I wanted to delete and replace my IE6 how could I
accomplish this?

OS is Windows XP Home

Any ideas??

Thank you in advance,
Larry

Close the browser and reopen it immediately after you lock the toolbars. See
if that works. I think it will.
If you're locking the toolbars and then later opening another browser
window, IE doesn't know about the new setting until you close the browser
and reopen it. Same thing with resizing windows to fully open. You have to
close and reopen the browser in order for subsequent windows to be the right
size.

Bonnie,

Your suggestion makes sense. Yes I do open multiple
browsers and I guess I assumed that the changes I made to
the toolbar on one would also apply to any subsequent
browser openings. I would normally make the toolbar
configuration change and, without closing the one browser,
open another.
I will immediately incorporate your procedure and see what
happens.

Thank You,
Larry
