When scrolling web pages the movement is jerky, not smooth.

I just upgraded one of my computers to WINXP Home ed. I
notice that when I am at a web site and I am scrolling
down a page the motion is jerky not smooth as it is on my
WIN98 computer. I am using a MS optical wheel mouse.
Does anybody know what this issue is and how to correct
it? The jerking page scrolling is driving my eyes buggy.

I am having the same problem, but mine is Uncontrollable
Scrolling in EVERTHING, not just IE. You find out how to
fix this, please pass it along to me.
