What is this error with Windows Modules Installer?

Stan Kay

Since installing the latest Microsoft Updates my error logs contain dozens
of the same error each of which has been reported to Microsoft. The
response from Microsoft is that there is no known solution but can anyone
explain what causes these errors and what I might do to fix the problem.
The errors log explains:-

Product

Windows Modules Installer

Problem

WINDOWS_WCP_OTHER_FAILURE2

From my personal investigations there is a strong possibility that the

Can anyone please offer any help or guidance?

I have now performed further tests and established that the problem is NOT
caused by either Opera or IE7

After further testing I have established that the errors occur whenever I
run Windows Update. So much for the cause. I am left with the more
difficult issue of how to solve the problem. So far I have found no
solutions but will continue my endeavors and shall report back my findings.

Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.
