What happens to expired SQL Server 2000 evaluation edition?

I've recommended to a client that they download the evaluation edition of SQL Server 2000 so that we can use Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer to install their new database.

However, what happens at the end of 3 months when the licence expires? Does the embedded MSDE carry on working, just without the benefit of graphical tools?

Or will the MSDE in the evaluation edition also expire?
