Access 2000 & SQL Server 2000 Readiness Update Won't Install

My Access 2000 dbases are maxed out and I want to explore Upsizing. I have a
copy of SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition evaluation software. I have
downloaded the Readiness Update required to make the Upsizing Wizard work
from Access 2000 to SQL Server 2000. I get error messages saying that the
Patch will not work on the versions of the software I have. I am doing all of
this on a single computer running Windows XP, not a bona fide server.
All software has been maintained and upgraded regularly to Micosoft latest
and grestest.
Any suggestions or ways around it? I'd buy SQL Server 7.0 at this point and
upgrade twice just to see how different queries get handled.

Install it anyway, then patch again to bring SQL Server up
to date before actually trying to run it.

I already had the SQL Trial version installed. I checked again for any
updates to either program and made sure they were installed. I get the same
error messages that the patch cannot be installed by Windows Installer
because either the programs are not on my computer (which is wrong) or that
the patch is not applicable to the versions of the programs that I am
running. Are there other versions of the patches or some way around this?

Hang on,
All software has been maintained and upgraded regularly to
Micosoft latest and grestest.

If you already have Office SR-3, you already have the readiness
update. It came out between SR-1 and SR-2. It won't install
without SR1, and probably won't install on SR-2.
