What AV will work with Mozilla, Outlook and Outlook Express

Ck News

I've installed trial versions of:

avast
panda
AVG
KAV
NOD32

I was using SSL port 995 with my POP server in Mozilla and Outlook - that
didn't seem to work with any of the above. I changed server to default 110
and stopped using SSL and was able to get NOD32 to work - but I've had some
problems with it. I've uninstalled, defragged, cleaned registry, etc and
reinstalled. Still having hangs and occasionally an error that says 'problem
communicating with the NOD32 kernel' or something like that. I thought it
might be the trial version is funky...

I'm over NOD32, so I want to know if I can use any of the others for Mozilla
AND Outlook (and Outlook Express would be nice because that's what I have to
use for my news reader)

Avast - The mail configuration only lets you do automatic setup ( which does
Outlook ) or manual setup - which picks up Mozilla and Outlook Express.
However, it seems that there is no way to have all 3 setup in avast. Am I
missing something?

KAV - I believe it said it only supports Outlook - can't remember...I've
installed and uninstalled so many. Does it work for Mozilla?

Panda - I think it said it would only work on Outlook - again I don't
remember.

I'm running NOD32 now, but I've not been able to get an update since
9-1-04, and there have been 3 or 4 updates since then. I'm nervousss......

Any help would be appreciated.

No the trial version is not funky and is a full feature trial version and
it there is no telling what's happening on your machine as you install
and un-install AV(s), which could be leaving things behind causing
conflict with common DLL(s) left on the machine.

I use Outlook, OE, IE and Xnews, and don't have a problem with NOD32 and
don't think I would have a problem with Mozilla, if it were installed.

Maybe, your 25 days are up.

I use avast- it will protect your e-mail clients.I use
thunderbird, outlook, outlook express and avast checks them all. I don't know
about the SSL settings but avast has a very good forum you could post at for
an answer. http://forum.avast.com/
Try a reinstall of avast-that may help because I had a problem with it
seeing thunderbird and a reinstall fixed it.
