Weird Internet Connection & Browser problem

S

Srikanth

I have a strange problem. I connect to internet using the "Connect"
window. I will be able to browse the internet fine. I will be able to
login to my messengers without any problem, all of a sudden I don't
know what happens, my browser can't open any sites.

But the strange thing is, the messengers to which I had already logged
in works without a problem. Strangely GMail also works but Yahoo and
other non-Web 2.0 sites doesn't work. What could be the problem, I
know it's really weird but is it a common problem?

Any solutions or suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Srikanth

What browser? Have you tried another browser? If internet explorer post to
the internet explorer newsgroup. There are quite a few posts there so
peruse them for something on topic before posting a new message.

Thank you Rock,

I tried both Firefox and Internet Explorer but both seem to have the
same problem.

I have searched the newsgroups for a similar problem but the search
results did not turn out relevant for my problem.

Thanks,
Srikanth

I'm not sure what you mean by the "Connect" window, but I'm thinking
dial-up connection. If that is what you mean, then the problem may lie
with your dial-up settings.

Check with your Internet provider to make sure you have the correct
settings for your connection. If you have the correct settings already,
then you may have some other kind of problem. But you will have to
confirm the settings before we can do any other troubleshooting.
