Internet Explorer & browser conflicts

I am using IE 7 browser with XP SP2 OS and problems have developed with all
my web site login pages after I created my user account for this Microsoft
Community Newsgroup. Now when I click on desktop shortcuts to my Yahoo login
pages, IE hangs and gives me the message that the program is not responding.
And each time I try to login to any online account, the page automatically
fills in the user ID from my previously visited login page. The software and
browsers of my multiple email addresses (att.net, hotmail.com, yahoo.com)
seem to be conflicting/fighting with each other. And lately my AT&T browser
isn't being allowed to open becaue IE redirects it and opens an IE browser. I
spent two hours on the phone with an AT&T DSL tech unsuccessfully reseting my
AT&T password, but IE 7 seems to create a "User Chooser conflict" with the
AT&T browser software.

Multiple browsers and multiple email addresses aren't suppose to be a
conflict with Internet Explorer, right? Recently I was forced to set Internet
Explorer as my default browser just to gain access to the internet, but I
don't want to be limited to just one browser, especially since it's creating
conflicts. I cleaned out my browser history, temp internet files, cookies
etc. but it did no good. Can anybody instruct me on how to use settings and
preferences to resolve these conflicts?

Stuck,

If installed, IE7 wants/needs to be the default Browser in WinXP SP2.

YMMV (and OP is trying to use IE-based browsers, not FF)

I did a full system spy ware & virus scan and removed all hidden files,
cookies, etc. and it seemed to help some login issues. However, I still can't
launch my AT&T browser because my AT&T password is still not recognized due
to User Chooser conflicts with Microsoft software & settings. Actually, I
would like to try using Fire Fox because I've heard it has better security
features for surfing the net, but I am reluctant to install yet another
browser with all my current problems.

Still stuck,

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Set Program Access
and Defaults | Browser

Try selecting AT&T (Yahoo) Browser as your default here. No guarantees.

Hi, I can't even post a question...I'm in trouble! I have updated my
internet browser to allow pictures to be downloaded to the new ebay selling
format and now I keep getting the send error report and it states that
internet explorer has encountered error and must close. This happened last
time I updated my brower but I don't remember what I did. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the tip PA Bear. Unfortunately AT&T Yahoo is not offered as an
option for default browser when I followed the path you suggested. The
browser choices in my Set Program Access and Defaults window are as follows -

Custom

Choose a default Web browser:
Use my current Web browser
America Online
Internet Explorer

Use My Current Web Browser was selected, but I'm wondering if there are
settings elsewhere that would allow me to add AT&T to my choices of default
broswers. Hmmmm, there's gotta be way...
