I am currently running MSN 7.0 on my comp. I have a webcam, the D-Link
DSC-350, and when I click to start showing webcam, it restarts my computer.
Obviously I find this an inconvenience so I need some solutions to my
problem. As well, today when I logged on my computer, I got a message saying
This computer has recovered from a serious system error, Send Error Report. I
clicked the microsoft website link that came with it, and they said it had to
do with a driver but Microsoft can't pinpoint the problem. It said that the
symptoms of this problem are spontaneous computer restarts..... hmmmmm sounds
familiar, the only differnece is that my isnt spontaneous.... It happens when
I click start showing webcam. One last hint then I'll let you guys get on
with your troubleshooting..... The webcam I am using is approx. 2 or 3 years
old. When I switched to XP, the driver on it was giving me problems because
it didnt recommend installation on a Windows XP comp. unless I went to there
website to get the new driver. I did that but it still had the same message
after I installed it, saying htat it may cause problems on your comp. I have
used the camera before this date, on this comp. on windows XP, and it didnt
restart. Why all of the sudden I don't know.
