Web searching redirects

Hello,
Recently, don't know why, I have been getting redirected to others sites
when I do a web search. To fix this myself, I went into my security and
changed things to stop this from happening and really not knowing what I was
doing. Unfortunetly, I did all wrong things as I now do not have sound, I
cannot view any video, and I still get redirected. In my internet security
settings I have MESSED this up so bad that I am unsure what needs to be
enabled or disabled. Does anyone know or know where I can get the settings to
fix this problem?

Use System Restore
Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore
to restore your computer to a date before you made things worse. You
may have to do this from Safe Mode.

Then use any of several Malware scanners to identify the cause of your
redirection. For this type of problem, I would use "Hijackthis" to
generate a report, then submit the report to
http://www.hijackthis.de
Be extremely careful about using Hijackthis to fix problems, though,
because if you don't know what you're doing you can make things a lot
worse.

browser hijacking
may be the problem
with the redirects
you are experiencing.

you can run "hijackthis"
and look at the log it
produces.

at the top of the log
there will be line items
pertaining to the browser.

basically, you should
only have three line items
that direct the browser to
msn or microsoft.or search

any other line items are
likely the hijackers.

if you want you can post
the hijack log on a reply
to this post and I'll be
happy to take a look at
it for you.
