Update downloads get redirected

Loretta

I am working on a windows xp sp2 computer. I have run a virus scan, 2x, I
have run Dial-a-fix, I have done a chkdsk /r, and I have done a defrag.
These things happen:
The shutdown button restarts the computer.
When I click on Windows update in the Tools Menu in IE it redirects to
msn.com.
When I go to the Microsoft website and try to download any thing to do with
security it redirects to msn.com.

Does any one know what is happening hand how to fix it?
Thanks,
Loretta

Click Start, Run, type or paste:

%SystemRoot%\system32\wupdmgr.exe

Click OK. Does that open Windows Update?
