Web Search - I need a better one

Google does not have my site well indexed any longer, and I really need a
better search engine than the one that comes with FP (web search). It
doesn't even recognize hyphens! And I have a lot of hyphenated words as well
as hyphenated numbers that my people need to be able to find.

It also won't recognize the basic Boolean search functions (such as " ", OR,
AND, & NOT).

I'm on a tight budget.

Any suggestions?

Depends on your server OS (Windows or other)
and whether you are using the WAIS or Index Server Catalog (windows only)

a few months ago someone sent me a search component from
http://frontlook.com/flsse/sse.asp to install in their site and skin to
match their other pages.
It worked OK and was fairly easy to make match the other pages of their
site.
