Warning message In Event Viewer

Brian Webb

Hello. Every time I boot Windows XP Professional, the
following is displayed in Event Viewer.

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM
Event Category: (8)
Event ID: 19011
Date: 10/12/2003
Time: 10:27:01
User: N/A
Computer: POWEROID1
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 19011 ) in Source (
MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM ) cannot be found. The local computer
may not have the necessary registry information or
message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to
retrieve this description; see Help and Support for
details. The following information is part of the event:
(SpnRegister) : Error 1355.

The PC doesn't seem effected by it, everything seems to
be working okay. I can find no reference to "Auxsource"
in the "Help and Support", MS Knowledge Base, or Google.

Any ideas please? Many thanks.

Hi Brian,

It sounds like you have Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2003
installed. Apparently that product requires that File and Printer Sharing
for Microsoft Networks is installed on the workstation or this message will
result. I found a reference to someone who had this problem and installing
File and Printer Sharing resolved it for them. You can install it through
the properties of your network connection. There, click the Install
button, pick Service as the type of item you wish to install, and click the
Add button. You should then see the option to install File and Printer
Sharing for Microsoft Networks.

Best regards,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes I do have Outlook 2003 Business Contact Manager
installed (although I haven't learnt to use it yet, and
I'm not sure whether I will need it. Outlook seems quite
capable without it).

However, I do have "File and Printer Sharing for
Microsoft Networks" installed, and it is enabled on
my "Network Bridge", "1394 connection" and "Local Area
Connection", and my simple home peer to peer network is
working fine. The only connections where this is not
enabled is on my dial up connections, which for security
reasons, is not normally recommended.

How serious is the warning, and do I need to take further
action?

Many thanks.

1. Sounds like you have SQL installed on this box. This is a pretty pricey
program and you should know if you have it.

From the error it looks like SQL thinks it is in a domain and wants to
register its SPN on an Active Directory integrated Windows 2000 Domain
Controller.

Perhaps this is a used business machine that used to host a SQL database and
account? Or maybe you had some 90 day trail at some point?

Here is the exact error you are having. If SQL is installed and used
disregard, if it i not used you should be able to go to services and
disdable the account that is logging on as MSSQL and disable it from
starting. You may also want to see if you have an unusual account in User
Accounts in Control panel

2. There is a bug that causes this warning when you have Microsoft Office
Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager installed. Disregard the warning
message if this is the case.

Seems like #2 is probably gonna be your issue
