What is MSSQL$ACT7?

OK so I was poking through the event logs in Control Panel Administrator
Options and found this warning kept coming up, it wasn't a critical error but
I am concerned about whether I should take the item "MSSQL$ACT7" out of my
startup items in msconfig or not. I do have a program called ACT7 which came
pre-bundled with my computer. I could try uninstalling that, but with such
an official start to the name like MSSQL maybe I should let the warnings roll?

I'm not sure exactly what the error means. Act installs an MSDE (SQL)
instance that is generating the error. If you don't use Act you can
uninstall it and it should uninstall the MSSQL$ACT7 instance at the same
time. You could also just disable the MSSQL$ACT7 service. If you decide to
use Act then enable the service. Run services.msc, scroll down to
MSSQL$ACT7, double click on it, stop it, then set the Startup type to
disabled.
