W2K/XP - Setting views for specific folders for more than one user at a time.

Valerie Hough

Hi,
I have set up some folders in:
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop

They show up on each user's desktop as planned.

I would now like to change the settings of the folder on each user's desktop
to set the View property to List instead of LargeIcons.

Is there some way I can do this without logging in as every user and
changing the View option by hand?

Perhaps there is a registry key that I could write to in order to achieve my
goal?

Thank you in advance,
Chris Hough

You can create a profile the way you like it, then Control Panel|System|User
Profiles, select the profile you adjusted, Copy To, Browse to
%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\Default User
Change "Permitted to use:" to "Everyone" OK
