VS 2008 Team Suite pricing ahhhhh

Ok this is making me want to rip my hair out trying to figure out the real
price of this thing... we are trying to make up our 2008 budget... we have
VS 2005 Pro right now... we like the team features in 08... and want to
figure out the price... I've seen everything from $2,500 to $15k... wich
$15k is ridicilous.... anyways... then it has editions in 2005! database,
app analyst, performance.... what ever they where called... then in 2008 the
trial seems to have all these things in one packadge? can someone explain
this to me? Do I have to buy 3 different programs at what ever price each?!

If you are smart you take a MSDN subscription , in that case you have access
to all MS products including the development suits
Another advantage is that as a MSDN subscriber you can already work with VS
2008 as of this moment .

At my company all developers have switched from VS 2005 to 2008 team edition
last week ,every developer at our company has a MSDN premium account ,
also note that even these subscription`s have different prices , it seems
that Resellers sell them much cheaper as at MS direct.

So contact a local reseller and you really can get a bargain we had 3 years
for the price of one year at MS

Huh? I've never seen team suite licensed on MSDN... heck when you buy team
suite you GET a MSDN subscription... see why I am confused

Technically you're not supposed to be using MSDN products for
production. Using it for development is considered production ;-)

AFAIK this is only right for everything that does not belong to the
development suite
MSDN is inclusive visual studio .

I have now a MSDN premium account as it is recently changed by MS from

Just to be sure i checked the MSDN website :

MSDN is inclusive the availlable development tools availlable to you that
vary by subscription .

At the company i am currently employed with ( big international company
where everything considerering software licensing is checked and double
checked by external Accountants who do audits once in a while ) every
developer has its own personal login to a MSDN Premium account

As this company is so strict ( especially compared to the company i
previously worked for ) i could not inmagine that they are doing
something that is not legal

We have our msdn subscription from a Dutch reseller http://www.itsp.nl ( as
we are located in the Netherlands ) who could deliver us MSDN inclusive
media for a bargain price also our production software ( client operating
systems , SQL server 2005 ) is bought through a open license structure ,
even the tech guys here have all a Technet subscription .

So my recomendation contact a local Microsoft reseller and ask for there
prices

Are you sure you didnt get MSDN premium WITH VS Team suite? you know there
are two models you can subscribe to...

* Team Components / Suite with MSDN Premium
* VS Professional with MSDN Premium (does NOT get MSDN access to team
components according to the site)

Try asking the MSDN online concierge. They are very helpful with
subscription issues.
