VS 2005 team edition question

B

Bob

I got an Msdn Universal subscription, single developper (I'm alone). And
noticed that I can get a free upgrade to Team Edition when it comes out. I
also noticed the difference in price between the Professional Edition
Premium (which is basically what I now have) and the Team Suite, it's huge,
at team Suite coming out at about 15K CAD a pop per user per year and 5k
renewal. My question is this. I now have a three year rate that was quoted
when I purchased my msdn renewal this fall. If I take advantage of the free
upgrade to team suite, when I come to pay for my renewal next year, will I
have to cough up the higher price, even though I was supposed to have a
price that was fixed for three years?
I like the idea of the newer supposedly better source code management as a
supposed improvement of VSS 6 that I now use, however I'm not crazy enough
to pop out 15K a year or 5k for renewal when now I pay les than 2.
I'm also old enough to know there's no free lunch. Just thought I'd ask MS
to clarify this, so I can make an informed decision.
