VPN users are unable to access the private network =/

I have users successfully connecting to the VPN through my public, they are
able to access both interfaces on the VPN server however they are unable to
access any of the machines on the private network. Within the Windows 2003
VPN setup I was able to forward ports to specific machines and have the VPN
users access that but ideally I would like to give the users unrestricted
access to the private network. Is this possible if so how? Private network
is 192.168.1.0/24

Computer Browsing over VPN
Computer browsing over VPN involves routers, multiple segments and multihomed servers. It is generally recommended that you implement WINS for name resolution and browsing support. Alternatively, it is possible to browse over VPN by using LMHOSTS files on all VPN clients.
You just created a VPN and established the connection. However, you cannot browse the Network Neighborhood or My Network Places.

Troubleshooting steps:

1. Ping the VPN server by IP.

2. Ping remote computers by IP.

3. Ping remote computers by NetBIOS Name, or FQDN.

4. Master browser Issues.

5. Permission or Cached Credentials issues

I recommend Brinkster for web hosting!

This actually didnt help much, i'm sorry I guess I should have said that i'm
unable to ping these machines. I don't care about the DNS names I just want
them to be able to reach any ip on the network.

I can ping BOTH interfaces on the VPN server
I can reach machines on the network if I forward specific ports to the
computers on the private network

Any other ideas??

Thanks for the help...

My router that controls the external interface forwards PPTP requests to
192.168.1.181

This works....its just once i'm connected I can only connect to machines on
the private network that have been specified
