Network resources over Dial-up/VPN

I am unsure if this is the correct group to be posting this, but here
goes..

Main Office
-------------
Windows 2000 AD Domain
Exchange 2000
SonicWall Pro 330 Firewall/VPN router
User accounts set with password to never expire and user cannot change

Remote Users
-----------------
Windows XP SP2 Laptops
Office 2003
SonicWall Global VPN Client 2.2.0.131

Situation
-----------
Users are unable to connect to network resources after undetermined
time.

When I first configure the laptop I am physically attached to the
network. I log on as the user and configure Outlook to connect to the
Exchange server.

When the user connects remotely, they are doing so through a dial-up
connection and the Sonicwall Global VPN client. The VPN client
connects to the Sonicall VPN appliance and issues a IP to the client
through DHCP. The client can then access network shares and the
exchage server.

This works as it should for several weeks then without warning the user
can no longer connect to the exchange server and when connecting to
network shares they are prompted for a thier user credentials after a
long delay. If the user enters thier credentials the are still denied
access.

If I connect the laptop to the network using ethernet the user is able
to connect with no errors.

This issue could be with the VPN or with the network or with the server
not sure wich, so I'll start with the network. Anything going on such
as a time-out period that might be causing this error?

Thanks

Prefix the Username with the Domain name (domain\user) to tell the machine
where to look for the user account. The credentials for establishing the
VPN connection do *not* log you into the Domain,...so technically,..you are
not logged in,...hence the problem.
