I'm wondering how to install Cisco Systems VPN-Client and
Terminal Services Client for
connection and to corporate a network between my home
computer and my computer at work (i.e. to my work
Terminal Server) I have Windows XP Home
edition. Under installation I get a messages which say
that the Cisco Systems VPN-Client is not compatible with
Microsoft's Internet Connection Sharing for Windows XP,
so therefore I also wonder how I disable the "Internet
Connection Sharing". I have been looking for where to do
this option, but it's obvious not where it should be!

Disable the Firewall/ICS service before installing the VPN client, and
enable the service afterwards. In XP original and Service Pack 1,
it's called "Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) / Internet Connection
Sharing (ICS)". In Service Pack 2, it's called "Windows Firewall /
Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)".

To disable the Firewall/ICS service:

1. Right click My Computer, and click Manage.
2. Double click Services and Applications.
3. Double click Services.
4. Double click the Firewall/ICS service.
5. If the Service status is Started, click Stop.

To enable it after the installation, repeat those steps, clicking
"Start" in step 5.

According to the Cisco web site, VPN Client versions 3.5(1)D and later
have a parameter to ignore the ICS check prior to installing.
