volume too low

The volume is too low even when all the way up in Windows
Media Player. I don't have that problem with RealPlayer
(at all!) nor is there a problem when I have a portible
device connected directly to my powered speakers. What's
up?!

Open your sound volume properties and make sure that both
the "Play Control" and "Wave/MP3" volumes are set high.

Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume
