Volume control.

Hello: I just noticed that have lost my on-screen volume contol; the little
bars that show at what level the sound is. I can still adjust the volume by
using the "Volume" icon on the task bar or the vulume knob but the graph bars
were an easy way to see the db level. Does anyone have a clue as how to get
them back? I'm running Win XP-Home/SP3.
I appreciate your help, Fred

that sounds like a specific driver that came with your sound system, not
part of the regular Windows setup. Unless you mean the Big one with all
the sliders but not "db levels". Did you replace any system drivers with
generic microsoft ones, perhaps from Windows Update? If so you don't
want to be doing that, and should roll them back out.

Hello Bob: Thanks for your fast response. I had diabled a few start-up
programs in WLOC (>"Change Settings>"Tune-up" tab>"Startup Settings") and
after I re-enabled them the problem went away. I'm not sure, however, which
program prevented the on-screen display. At any rate, all is working now and
I thank you again for the reply.
