How do you reinstall the volume control if it's been removed?

My husband started the microphone speech program, and when I went to close it, I accidently hit a combo of of keys that deleted the volume control from my task bar. When I went into control panel to check the 'place volume icon in the task bar' I get an error 'windows cannot display the volume control on the task bar because the volume control program has not been installed. To install it, use add/remove programs in control panel'. I have checked the add/remove programs and see nothing that looks like it would be the volume contol program. I have searched the microsoft website and find nothing on this. If anyone has an answer, I would surely appreciate the help. Thanks. I'm on xp professional, sb wave live!

Deb, navigate to C:\Windows\System32 Folder and scroll down to
sndvol32.exe Rt click on it and select
Send to Desktop as shortcut. The first slider should be Master Volume.
That should work.

5.LET HIM KNOW AND SAY SOMETHING SORRY TO HIM.

9.HIDE THE COMPUTER.
10.DESTROY THE WHOLE COMPUTER ACCIDENTLY.
11.DON'T LET HIM USE THE COMPUTER ANYMORE.
