Volume control keeps lowering itself automatically !!!!

Robert PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Compaq Presario 5140 upgraded to windows 2000 and now the
sound control keeps lowering itself.. i got updated ess
drivers... and i updated the keyboard controls and it will
modify the sound but hte sound then automatically lowers
itself.. even with a regular keyboard without volume
controls.. i dont care about the keyboard all i want is
the sound to stay at level so i can hear things haha can
anyone PLEASE HELP!!!! email me please and let me know
