VM Fusion on iMac - Virtual machine requiring new XP product key

Robert

I recently bought an iMac and a new OEM copy of XP Pro to load on it
strictly
for my own use. I loaded XP into a Boot Camp partition and it works fine.
Then I loaded VMFusion so that I can also run XP in a virtual machine. When
Fusion opened the XP window (from the XP installation on the Boot Camp
partition), XP started the activation dialog, which informed me that I
need a new key since the OEM key was already used once. But I have not made
a second installation.

Any idea how to get around this?

Google for the solution and/or ask VMware how to do this.

This is not a Microsoft issue - what you are attempting would be a 'grey
area' at best. ;-)

Thanks for your reply. It is much what I expected. I'm sure VMWare will be
able to help.
