Vista-Windows Mail- Cannot create a second account

When I try to create a second account in Vista - Windows Mail - the new user
name causes a signon box to appear requesting the username and password. If
I type in the original username nothing happens; however, when I try typing
in the new user name I get the following error:

Account; 'mail.optonline.net', Server; 'mail.optonline.net', Protocol; POP3,
Server Response; '-ERR[AUTH] Authentication failed', Port 110, Secure(SSL);
NO, Server Error; 0x800ccc90, Error Number; 0x800ccc92

Have you tried it both with and without typing the part of your email
address
that starts with @ after the user name? Are you using CAPITAL and lower
case letters in the correct spots in your user name and password? Not all
email servers insist on this, but some do.

The answer to my problem was to go back to my ISP and ask them how to create
a user id recognized by them. Once they told me the internet site for
creating user ids, I created one and the problem is solved.
Thanks all for your help!
