Vista spell check not working

I think that people who continue to have problems are trying to do this
within a message rather than in the main Windows Mail ap as specified in
Judy's instructions. I came here looking for answers after getting the no
language message. I copied my email text, closed the email, applied the fix
and then started with a new email and the pasted text. When I tried the
spellcheck on the new e-mail, it worked perfectly. Thanks so much to the
community for being here to help with these issues. I like Vista and am
willing to work with the early problems. I've been a Mac user for a few
years and switched because of the HOT battery issues and because there are
too many web aps for work that don't work in Safari.

Rosedith hit the nail / problem on the head. Thanks.

I too had this issue with the error message "Language is no longer
available for spell checking. Please select another in the spelling
options dialoge".
and changed it to German then did the spell check (it
was written in English) and when I did the spell check it said the spelling
check was complete (indicating it was correct)! So I then changed the spell
check back to "English" and
misspelled words on purpose-it still said your spelling check is complete.
Any
other suggestions?

Thanks. It worked and I wonder what we would do without other people
figuring stuff out for us. It certainly isn't something found in books!

Hi Warkworth :

I have tried this and I only get internet options and can't find spelling.
Can you help me through this ?

Thanks

Internet Explorer does not have a spell checker. This is a Windows Mail
newsgroup. Try Tools | Options in Windows Mail and not IE.

You need to be in the Windows Mail program. "Internet Options"
is not in Windows Mail, only in Internet Explorer.

This fix worked for me. The only thing different is that I changed my
language to French, hit apply and then closed Mail. On reopening, I changed
my language back t English and the spell checker worked great.

This also worked for me, went to "Tools" at the top of Windows Mail,
"Options" "Spelling" Chose another language "apply" Chose English "apply" and
"OK" and it worked. Also note that I could not read my e-mail attachments
until a fine Hp Advisor (the exception, from Canada) helped me to enter the
Registry Edit and make some changes and Voila! I could see the attachments.
It is just one day of ownership with Windows Vista Premium and there are
indeed some aggravating problems to be found and hoping for a stress free
season...

No Joy

When I click on Tools I don't get an options......... It goes stright to the
"no longer available this lang.........." box just like it did when I hit the
ABC check spell icon....

I'm running Vista with Office and Student............. don't know if that
matteres????????

In any case it doesn't seem to work for me.....
