Vista Mail doesn't check for new messages when I start Mail

Most of the time when I start Mail, it doesn't automatically check for new
mail. I have to click "Receive All" for it to check for new mail. I have
checked the box "Send and receive mail at startup" in the options section of
Tools, but it doesn't do it most of the time. Any help would be
appreciated.

Judy,

Choose Options from the Tools drop down menu. Click on the General tab if it
is not already selected. Place a check in "Send and Receive Messages at
Startup"
Click OK.
