Vista doesn't play nice with Streets and Trips 2005

Hello;
After I got my HP Vista Home Premium notebook I loaded my copy of Streets
and trips w/GPS 2005 and it worked well until recently. Now it won't load
and I get a message "Your registry settings for this application were not
copied correctly. To correct these settings, run setup again for this
application from the location where you originally installed it".

The option to run the streets.exe file in Compatibility Mode does not exist
in the pull down menu.

I have unloaded it and reloaded 3 times. I have mined the registry deleting
"streets" and "trips" references and searched the entire drive for any
reference to those terms and deleted them.

I realize I can do a total reload and just blow everything away but I really
don't want to do that.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks;

Don

Here is a recommendation by Richie J:
Here is the solution:
dont let autorun try to start the install. However you chose to do it,
rather using windows explorer or whatever, get to the point where you are
viewing the contents of the DVD. From there, here is the path you need to
follow to get to a different installer which will install the program
WITHOUT
admin rights and WITHOUT having to install text to speech seperately. (my
cdrom/dvd drive is assigned to E: on my machine, yours may differ) Path=
E:\Streets\MSMap and the file you want to run in the msmap folder is called
data. It is a
windows installer package type file a little bigger than 2 megs. This will
install the program without even messing with the text to speech engine
(which is already built into windows) and once installed, the program will
run fine.

Well, I admit my reply won't help you much, but I've got Streets and Trips
(without GPS) running on two Vista boxes here without issue.

Do you have a system restore point after the S&T install but before your
current problem?
