virus help needed

Running Windows XP
Have up to date norton antivirus that tells me
periodically that C:\Windows\System32\winhlpp32.exe is
infected with W32.HLLW.Gaobot.AO
in a popup box. When run full scan, nothing is
detected. I have performed what symantec suggests for
such an infection and still it happens.
Can I just delete this file or will that cause greater
problems?
