Virtual Memory in Embarked PC

Hello,

I have some problems with configuring virtual memory on an Embarked PC. The
Pc has 1 Gbytes of RAM and a 4 Gbytes Flash card (NTFS, connected to the
primary IDE channel) as an external HardDisk.

actually I need 1.3 Gbytes of RAM and it is impossble to add any additionnal
RAM.

We tried to add virtual Memory but all the kind of way we tried (mount a
partition seen as a physical disk with virtual memory allowed inside for
instance...) didn't work.

We would like to know if the fact that the harddisk is seen as an external
peripheral could be responsible of the impossibility of the pagfile.sys
creation ?

Moreover, is it possible to create pagefile.sys on a FlahCard Disk ?

Is there any solutions to our problem ?

Thanks to reply ASAP !!

If a disk shows in system properties, virtual memory, change button,L.click the
disk, select "let system manage" click set 2X.However if the flash cards dont
show, then thier not available to do so.Adding any hd to the system will/would
increase virtual memory. Why is 1.3 GB of ram required.

Hi Andrews,

actually, the flash card disk appears as an available disk into virtual
memroy setup.
We tried all the possibilities in this menu to add virtual memory, even the
"let system manage" option.

Each time we chose an option (let the system manage, different self sizes min
and max...), the system reboot and at the start of windows we had the error
message: "your system does not have a swap file or the swap file is too
small".

We need 1.3 Gbytes because of one application which needs this RAM memory
when there are heavy parameters configurations.

Hi

I go directly to the troubleshooting with virtual memory and one seems to be
the right case.

It is advised to drop tht IDE controler of the FLASH card and reboot the PC
to let it replace by the standard controler.

But this operation seems dared because I think that the FlashDisk would be
probably not recognized and I would break my configuration.

Do you think this operation is right or not ?
