VideoAdapter&Graphics Card Problems

i have 2 problems - no.1 is that when i start a game a message comes up as:
could not instalize direct draw and i seem to have a problem with direct 3d
aswell, i have done all the tests and they are successful but i still have a
problem! i am running a AMD 2500+ proccesor and a nvidia ge force 4 graphics
card.
no.2 is that i can't find the display/video adapters icon in device manager
and it doesnt seem to detect my graphics card either. can anyone help me
please?

What version drivers do you have installed. You need to have drivers
installed from the video card manufacturers website which isn't always
Nvidia, you may have a card with their chipset on it. Check the video card
info and download and install the latest drivers.
