video driver ?

Having startup problems. This started about six months
ago and is becoming a regular problem. i.e. more frequent.
After I get the windows-xp splash screen the monitor
goes to black and does nothing. After repeated restarts
a normal main screen shows. Snooping through the SYS
folder I came across the following error:

Error:
c:\pnpdrvrs\video\.\BX_04683\Oemdspif.dl_ was not copied
to:C:\WINDOWS\System32\Oemdspif.dll because of the
following error:
No signature was present in the subject.

then at the bottom:
Warning:
Setup was unable to start service tabsrv because of the
following error:
OpenService(tabsrv) returned error 1060 (424)


I afraid that restarts may not help in the near future.
Any help out there?
