video clips dont work

Hey,

I have MS Powerpoint 97. When i try to add any video
clips they don't movie, it appears as a still picture
like clipart. I tried the video clips from the microsoft
clipart gallery online and on my Microsoft CD. Am i
missing something, or is there only a specific type of
video file that 97 can play and if yes how can i convert
the existing video clips i have.

Video clips or Animated GIFs?

Animated GIFs do not work in powerpoint 97 (I'm pretty sure that the video clips on the microsoft online clipart gallery
are animated GIFs)

You'll need powerpoint 2000 or higher to view animated gifs otherwise you will only see the 1st frame.
