Inserting Movie formats and compatibility

Hi, I'm producing a presentation on powerpoint 2007 for work that includes
some short video clips in mpeg1 format. I can add the movies and play them on
my laptop but I need to make everything compatible with windows XP so my
clients can view it (the presentation will be sent out on CD) I've packaged
for CD and the XP machine will now even play the embedded text but I cant get
my video clips to play. Do the clips need to be in a certain format? The
clips play on the XP machine before being added to powerpoint, but not after.
Please help i've coverted the clips to almost every format I know and must
have tried every movie conversion package going - i'm pulling my hair out!!!!

Hi Geoff, or should I call you spud ;o)
Thanks for your response but I have to hold my hands up at this point and
bow my head with embarrassment! it wasn't the length of the path, it was the
file format. After spending over 30 hours, yes 30 hours unsuccessfully
trawling through software to convert my mpeg2 files to become compatible with
XP i realised i had movie maker on my vista laptop which edited, cropped and
converted the files into compatible WMV files which are compatible with
vista, windows 98, 2000 and XP. Talk about not seeing the wood for the trees!
So yes put a tick against the 'trust a woman!' box for me haha!

Thanks for your help though
Regards
Nickie
