Video appears blurry

I have transferred video from my Sony Digital Handycam camera to WMM Version
2.1, have made a movie, saved it as "High Quality Large" to the computer,
then I have imported into "Sonic, My DVD", then burned onto a TDK DVD +R
media. When I view this through my TV/DVD Player, the video appears blurry,
seems to look blotchy. What am I doing wrong? Please help, getting very
frustrated, tried this many times with the same outcome. Is it how it's
being saved? The DVD we are saving it on?

Yes. Save as "DV AVI," and then import to MyDVD.
DVDs burned from WMV files always look compressed,
even at the lowest compression (highest quality) settings.

Forgot to mention, I have also tried saving it as DV-AVI, same thing happened.

Are you capturing using firewire? As a dv-avi file? Then saving it as a
dv-avi file?
Did you have any options to choose from in MyDVD? If so, which did you pick?

How are you capturing the video in the first place from the camcorder to the
pc? Are you using the Firewire/iLink and capturing with DV AVI profile?. If
not your video quality is lost at the source and can only get worse later on
what ever you do.

Capturing using USB. The option on WMM for capturing as a DV-AVI file is
grayed out.

Thats it then.

You need to capture with a firewire card and cable and then the option to
capture in DV AVI format will be made available in WMM.

USB is not suitable for full resolution video capture.
