Vertical Scrolling

Hi. My question is regarding vertical scrolling in IE 6.0. It used to be
that clicking anywhere on the vertical scrolling bar would advance me to the
next "logical" web page, so as to enable continuity between the end of one
web page and the beginning of the next. For some unknown reason, my browser
recently changed -- and it doesn't follow that vertical scrolling procedure
anymore. Now, if I click toward the middle or bottom of the scroll bar, the
browser advances all the way down to the point on the web page that
corresponds to where I clicked on the scroll bar. I know this isn't the
norm. Does anyone know how I could reset settings (or do whatever needs to
be done) to fix the problem?

Note: My Outlook Express v. 6 doesn't exhibit this oddity as I scroll
through messages in my InBox, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help.
