Using only Deepfreeze for security

Hi.I use deepfreeze for my home pc so i dont use any antivirus,antispyware(except firewall) Is it safe this method?

Finally any recommend antivirus programme? (freeware please)
P4 3Ghz,512Mb Ram.......
