Using internet explorer at home when disonnected from the server

hi
I have a laptop with Windows XP and is connected to a server. It uses a
proxy server settings in internet explorer. When I take the laptop home and
I want to connect to the internet using a dial up connection, it dials up and
says it is connected but when I go into internet explorer it says this page
cannot be displayed. Are there some settings that I have to change in order
to use internet explorer when dialing up from home?

You'll probably have to go into Tools...Internet Options...Connections tab,
LAN settings and uncheck things there, depending on your home ISP's settings
requirements.

If you're moving your computer between home and work environments, there are
a couple things you can try to make this switch easier

1. Create two WinXP user accounts - one for work, one for home, and set up
your internet connections appropriately for each location in each account.

2. Use a third-party connection manager/switcher:
