Username and password

Every time i open IE, it asks for username and password as i am using proxy
servers! Is there any way i can save this information so that i dont have to
type it every time i want to browse the internet? There is no "Save password"
option for some reason! It's very frustrating! I noticed this problem only in
Windows XP Home Edition. Does anyone have a solution to this problem ?

I also have XP Home with IE 6 (SP2) and I don't get the "save password"
option. Other postings recommending going to inetexplorer.mvps.org (the link
has changed to http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/11.html). Unfortunately
the "Save Password Check Box Is Unavailable"
(http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q137/3/61.asp) only applies
to Win9X products. Have you resolved this issue or does anyone else have
any suggestions? Thanks
