upgrading problem

Everytime I attempt to upgrade my Microsoft Windows, my
computer keeps downloading and installing the same
things. They are called Security Updates for Windows XP
and after I download them, I try to move onto the next
step but it prompts me to download the Security Updates
again! Do you have any idea of how I can get past this?

Yes - this keeps happening to me. The same update is
offered to me no matter how many times I download and
install it. No new updates are presented to me, possibly
as a result of this.

The update which is constantly offered to me is:

"Security Update for Windows XP (KB835732)"

It is displayed as an update which is already downloaded
to my computer.

I really need a solution to this, as it is also
preventing me from getting SP2.
