Upgrading from Windows ME

I own a three year old HP Pavilion computer with a 766 Mhz
Celeron processor. I'm running ME software but I'm having
a few problems that lead me to consider upgrading the
windows software to version 2000.

1) Will my machine handle Windows 2000? I have boosted
memory to 256.
2) Will the Celeron processor work with 2000?
3) Will I need to wipe the hard drive and load software
from scratch?

Current problems started with installation of an HP
Deskjet model 6122 (required 6 hours of phone support).
Then two months later the machine froze up installing a
new version of System Works.

You can check the HCL or the pc or hardware manufacturer's web site for
Windows 2000 drivers.

Yes, you'll need to format and start a new install.
