software from windows me 2000

I just purchased windows xp home edition i am trying to
find out if the software from my hp pavilion 6835 windows
me 2000 will work on the window xp software.

Contact the software manufacturer for compatibility issues.
Most should work.
For others, you may need to use Compatibility Mode.
Search Help and Support for "compatibility mode"

There is no such thing as 'windows me 2000".

Windows 3.1 > Windows 95 > Windows 95 SR2 > Windows 98 > Windows 98 SE >
Windows XP.

Windows 2000 and Windows NT were concurrently released at about the same
time as Win98, and are "professional" OSes.

You have either Windows ME (most likely as you bought a retail machine) or
Windows 2000 (if you bought it through a business channel).

You cannot have Windows ME 2000 as such an animal does not exist.
