Hi all
Has anyone compiled any lists of things to beware
of/incompatibilities/gotchas when upgrading from PPT 2000 to 2002/2003? Any
pointers greatly appreciated...TIA
The biggie: after installing PPT, immediately go to Help, Check for Updates
and apply any needed updates. If you skip this step, PPT may not be able to
open your old files. The update fixes that little booboo.
There are some weirdnesses with font embedding. If you open a presentation
with fonts embedded AND you don't have those fonts on your system already AND
the fonts have certain restrictions placed on their embeddability, then you may
find yourself in Edit-Only mode ... able to show/print the presentation but not
to edit it. Other than one known bug regarding Arial Black, this is by design.
Dumb design? Yes, I think so.
