updating 5.0 site with 2002 issues

Does anyone know of any issues between FP2002 and previous versions and are
their ways to get around them? Here's my experience and my dilemma...

I just upgraded to FP 2002 recently, and am about to begin making updates to
a site that was created using FP5.0 (not even certain what year that is) . I
am concerned about the effects - the hover buttons in particular. I recently
made simple changes with my 2002 to a site created with 98 and as soon as I
saved/viewed it I discovered that none of the hover buttons were working -
just big gray strips - all had to be reconfigured. This new site has
waaaaaay too many for me to have to go in and redo all of them.

Thanks in advance - Angela

After a few months of studying this newsgroup I came across the fact that
hover buttons apparently don't work with the IE that comes with Windows XP.
(That's what they say anyway.) The creation of Hover Buttons, however, is
still an option within FP 2002.

I'm not as tech savy as many who use this newsgroup but can I suggest this
as a quick way to set up your navigation buttons:

Using the navigation view place your pages in a logical order with the lead
pages possibly unconnected in the tree under 'index.htm' This makes these
pages 'global' Place the child pages under the parent. Rename any pages
on the navigation preview pane to what you want the button to read.
Remember to keep it short when possible. This doesn't rename the file only
what navigation will call the page.

Once this is done you can have FP create navigation bars based on this
structure. Cut and paste bars with the pages they need to be with. This
is much quicker than linking each button on each page to where it needs to
go. Plus it makes adding and deleting pages that much simpler in the
future.

Good luck.
