Update Intel PRO/100VE Driver

Hello:

I've been trying to update the driver to my Intel network
card (which is internal to my motherboard). I've tried
both through Windows update and by downloading the
software from Intel. However, everytime I try to update
it (or do anything to the device in Device Manager), I
get an error that reads as follows:

"Windows could not load the installer for Net. Contact
your hardware vendor for assistance."

The issue seems only to be related to devices in
the "Network" area of the device manager (I have tried to
update, for instance, the driver for the 1394 card). I
always get the same error message and the
installation/update fails.

Any thoughts?

The PRO/100VE drivers is for a standard wired LAN port.... NOT for the 1394
Net Adapter.
