UNWANTED CONTROL PANEL ITEMS

Steve

How do you get rid of unwanted Control Panel items. I just installed some
software which added a link to its website on the panel. I uninstalled the
software, but the link remains.

This is my second time posting this question. No response last time.

Are there any MVPs?

I'm not an MVP and have no desire to be one. I'd rather be a purple cow.

Have you tried deleting it in Safe Mode?

OR

With tweakui you can "hide" icons that display in the control panel.

Moron, there were two responses to your first posting on 10/3, and one
of the responses was from a MVP.

Kurttrail?

Making a point with humor. It is totally unnecessary info.

Obviously you have spyware crammed way up your ass, and don't have a
sense of humor.

Maybe you could point out the humor in calling someone who is asking for
help a "moron".
If that is your idea of humor then you are one very sick person.

The truth would have been calling him a liar, since he did get two
response to his previous posting.

Thanks...

Couldn't get the software to work. No indication whatsoever how to run it
expert mode, in the readme file or elsewhere.

However, found the little sods in the HKLM namespace, and that's sorted the
problem.

Surely, Microsoft are slipping if these problems can be solved so simply!
