Unsolicited Newwork Connections

I have received unsolicited Network Connections requests,
which have the following wording:

You (or a program) have requested imformation from "a
specified web site". Which connection do you want to use?

There are a number of these so called requests, each with
a different specified web site.
Does anyone know how to remove these and how to prevent
any repeats.
I would appreciate any imformation or advice. Thanks

Download and run SpyBot. If that's not enough, download and run
AdAware.
